This project is in line with the Northern Ireland Physical Activity Strategy (1996-2002) which aims to address the low levels of physical activity among the population of Northern Ireland. The project addresses the decline in participation by young people as they get older, the low levels of activity among young women, the need to reduce the large sedentary population and the need to reverse the functional decline as people get older. This is being achieved through partnership with voluntary, statutary and community agencies. |
