| Comment: |
This project reinforces the link between breastfeeding and health already established in the breastfeeding strategy published by the DHSSPS August 1999 which aims to promote and support breastfeeding. This innovative health prevention model has identified peer support volunteers within the local community that will develop links with the hospital and community trusts. It has facilitated an educational peer support programme and research based training for health professionals. |
